Dr. Martin earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and Berklee College of Music, and completed her doctorate at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Dr. Martin is also the author of Your Therapist is Anxious, Too—an anxiety workbook written alongside her sister, a Broadway actress, exploring what it means to live, and thrive, with a loud inner world.

Founder of Northlight Health Collective & Gemstone Wellness, Inc. | Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Hello! I’m Jenny, a licensed clinical psychologist, writer, and lifelong seeker with over a decade of experience supporting individuals and couples through trauma, identity exploration, neurodivergence, and transformation. I founded Gemstone Wellness in Chicago to create a space rooted in ethical, relational care—and Northlight Health Collective is an expansion of that vision into something even more integrative, soulful, and spiritually attuned.

Over the last few years, I’ve come into a fuller understanding of my own neurodivergence—particularly around Autism, giftedness, and sensory processing differences. Like many women and AFAB individuals, I lived much of my life without a name for my intensity, emotional depth, and pattern-seeking brain. That awareness has reshaped both my inner world and my therapeutic lens, allowing me to offer even more resonant, non-pathologizing care to others navigating similar territory.

My approach is anchored in depth-oriented therapy, neurodivergent-affirming practice, and a growing reverence for the realms beyond the strictly psychological. Following a spiritual awakening, I’ve been called more deeply into the study of consciousness, energy, and transpersonal work. I’m currently pursuing advanced training in psychedelic-assisted therapies and integration, with a commitment to keeping this work ethical, inclusive, and trauma-informed.

Whether you're navigating grief, spiritual emergence, neurodivergent identity, creative blocks, or relationship complexity—I hold space for the fullness of your experience, and the intelligence of your system.

Northlight’s Origin Story

Northlight Health Collective was born from a quiet inner knowing—one that stirred in the in-between spaces of a well-loved practice in Chicago and the pull of a deeper, more expansive vision. After years of serving clients through Gemstone Wellness, our founder began noticing a shift: in herself, in the world, in what healing could mean beyond diagnosis and insurance codes.

The traditional therapy world had always felt a little too small. The systems that promised care so often created constraints. And somewhere in the rhythms of trauma work, parenting, and spiritual awakening, a new model began to take shape.

Northlight is that new model.

It’s a place where psychology meets spirituality. Where the science of mind and the mysteries of being coexist. Where therapists don’t pathologize sensitivity but honor it. Where neurodivergence is not just accommodated but celebrated. Where clients—many late-diagnosed, multi-layered, and beautifully nonlinear—come not to be “fixed,” but to be seen.

We believe healing happens in relationship. We believe depth can be inviting. And we believe that people deserve care that isn’t dictated by corporate platforms or insurance algorithms.

So we’ve built a collective: a place for the seekers, the skeptics, the sensitives, the ones who’ve been overlooked or misunderstood. A place for clinicians who want to work with integrity and creativity, without compromising their values.

Northlight is a north star—and just as the north light is used to guide a painter’s choices, it a symbol of guidance, steadiness, and illumination.
It is our offering to a world that is ready to remember wholeness.
